1973–1978: Lord Hesketh and James Hunt

Zandvoort 1975 winner; ran without sponsorship.
Alexander Hesketh, the third Baron Hesketh, entered a March for James Hunt in 1973 with Anthony 'Bubbles' Horsley running the team and Harvey Postlethwaite engineering. Hunt finished second at Watkins Glen that year.
The in-house 308 followed, and Hunt won the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort ahead of Niki Lauda's Ferrari, in a car carrying no commercial sponsorship at all.
Hesketh's money ran out at the end of 1975. Hunt left for McLaren and won the 1976 title; the team's cars were sold to Wolf-Williams and Hesketh limped on with customer entries until 1978.
