Who is responsible
GridXTrax is an independent, non-commercial fan archive operated from the United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller is GridXTrax (independent fan-run archive). You can reach the controller via Facebook Messenger, or via the contact page.
What personal data this site collects
GridXTrax has no user accounts, no login, no comment system and no newsletter sign-up. The site does not ask you for your name, email address or any other personal detail in order to browse it. Everything on the site is static reference content generated from historical Formula One results.
- Server logs. The hosting provider records standard technical request data (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. The lawful basis is legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating and securing the site. These logs are retained only for as long as the host keeps them for operational and security purposes.
- Messages you send. If you contact the archive via Facebook Messenger, your message and any contact details you share are processed to answer you (legitimate interests, or compliance with a legal obligation where the message is a rights request). Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter.
- Search and filter choices. Search terms, sort orders and filters are stored in the page URL and processed in your browser. They are not linked to you or profiled.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
GridXTrax does not set advertising or profiling cookies, does not run behavioural analytics, and does not embed third-party tracking pixels or social widgets. Because no non-essential cookies or similar technologies are set, no consent banner is required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
The share buttons on this site are plain outbound links. Nothing is loaded from X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit or WhatsApp while you read a page, and no data is sent to them. A share network only receives information when you deliberately click a share link, at which point that network’s own privacy policy applies. See the cookie notice for the full detail.
Third-party services
Pages are served by a hosting/CDN provider and web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your IP address is necessarily visible to those providers as part of delivering the page. They act as processors or independent controllers for that technical delivery only. Some of these providers operate outside the UK; transfers rely on the UK international data transfer addendum or an adequacy regulation.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability where applicable, and the right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. To exercise any right, contact GridXTrax via Facebook Messenger. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is a general-interest reference archive. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children and contains no age-restricted material.
Changes
If the site ever adds analytics, a newsletter or any other feature that processes personal data, this policy will be updated before that feature goes live and the “last updated” date above will change. See also the terms of use and disclaimer.
