Faenza has never been a big-budget operation, but it has been continuously on the grid since 1985 and it launched the career of the sport's most recent dominant champion.

1985–2005: twenty-one seasons, zero podiums, enormous affection
Minardi
Faenza independents; no wins in 21 seasons. Debut seats for Alonso, Webber, Fisichella.
Giancarlo Minardi's team arrived in 1985 with Cosworth and then Motori Moderni engines and almost never had the money to match its ambition. Its best finish was fourth, and it never scored a podium in 340 entries.
It did give debuts to Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber, Jarno Trulli and Giancarlo Fisichella, and Webber's fifth place on debut at Melbourne in 2002 remains one of the most celebrated results in the team's history.
Paul Stoddart bought the team in 2001 and fought the sport's cost structures publicly for four years before selling to Red Bull in September 2005.
2006–2019: the junior team that won twice
Scuderia Toro Rosso
Red Bull junior team, founded on the purchased Minardi entry. Vettel wins Monza 2008.
Red Bull rebranded Minardi as Scuderia Toro Rosso, a development seat for Red Bull Junior Team drivers. Sebastian Vettel won the 2008 Italian Grand Prix from pole in a rain-soaked Monza, making Toro Rosso the smallest team to win a race in the modern era.
Pierre Gasly's win at Monza in 2020 came under the next name, but the pattern was set here: Faenza built drivers — Vettel, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Sainz, Gasly — for Milton Keynes.
2020–2023: a fashion brand on the sidepod
Scuderia AlphaTauri
Fashion-brand rebrand. Gasly wins Monza 2020.
Red Bull renamed the team after its AlphaTauri clothing label for 2020 to broaden the brand's reach beyond energy drinks. Gasly won at Monza that year in extraordinary circumstances after a red flag and a penalty for Hamilton.
Results tailed off, and Red Bull decided the team should serve as a more explicit sister operation rather than a standalone brand exercise.
2024 to today: closer to Milton Keynes

Official 2024 entrant name; closer technical alignment with Milton Keynes.
The 2024 rebrand to Visa Cash App RB — 'Racing Bulls' in common use — came with a technical reorganisation that maximised shared components with Red Bull Racing and a new UK base at Milton Keynes alongside Faenza.
The team remains the grid's designated proving ground, with drivers moving between it and the senior team mid-season.
