He won the 1959 United States Grand Prix at Sebring for Cooper at 22.
He founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing in 1963 and entered Formula One in 1966.
He won the 1968 Belgian Grand Prix in his own M7A.
He was killed testing a Can-Am car at Goodwood in June 1970; the team he built continued without him.
