The Long Version

Frank Williams Racing Cars ran customer cars from 1969 and collapsed into the Walter Wolf takeover in 1976.

Williams Grand Prix Engineering was founded in 1977 with Patrick Head; the FW07 delivered the first title in 1980.

The Renault-powered 1990s cars were the class of the field, winning five constructors' championships in six seasons.

The family sold to Dorilton Capital in 2020, ending 43 years of independent ownership; James Vowles now leads the rebuild.
