The Long Version

Peter Sauber built sports cars from 1970 and entered Formula One in 1993 with Mercedes engineering support.

BMW bought a majority stake for 2006; Robert Kubica won the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix, the team's only victory.

BMW withdrew after 2009 and Peter Sauber bought the team back, surviving several near-collapses.

Alfa Romeo title sponsorship ran 2019-2023; the Hinwil operation becomes the Audi works team in 2026.
