The Long Version
Ken Tyrrell's team was built in a wooden shed at a Surrey timber yard and won three titles with Jackie Stewart before decades of decline.
British American Tobacco bought the team after Ken Tyrrell sold up; the big-budget BAR era produced zero wins.
Honda bought out BAT's stake outright, scored one win, then pulled out entirely amid the 2008 financial crisis.
Ross Brawn bought the stranded team for a symbolic £1 and won both championships in 2009, one of F1's great underdog stories.
Daimler bought Brawn GP and has since taken eight constructors' and seven drivers' titles, all in the 2014–2021 hybrid era; with Tyrrell's 1971 crown the lineage holds nine constructors' and ten drivers' championships.
