The Long Version
Ligier arrived in 1976 with Matra V12 power and Jacques Laffite, winning in Sweden in 1977.
The 1979 JS11 was briefly the fastest car in Formula One, winning the first two races.
Olivier Panis's 1996 Monaco win was the team's last, in its final season under the Ligier name.
Alain Prost bought the entry for 1997 and Prost Grand Prix collapsed into bankruptcy after 2001.
