Lineage
The Long Version
Honda entered in 1964 with a transverse V12 of its own design, barely two years after its first car.
Richie Ginther won the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix, the last race of the 1.5-litre formula.
John Surtees won at Monza in 1967 in the lightweight RA300 built with Lola.
Honda withdrew after a fatal accident in 1968 and returned as an engine supplier in 1983.
