Lineage
The Long Version
BRM was conceived as a patriotic answer to Alfa Romeo and Mercedes, funded by a trust of British firms.
Graham Hill won the 1962 drivers' and constructors' titles with the P57.
The complex 3.0-litre H16 of 1966 was heavy and unreliable but won once, in a Lotus.
The team wound down in the mid-1970s and ceased entering after 1977.
