Michael Andretti's Andretti Global applied for an eleventh entry in 2023 with General Motors as engine partner.
The FIA approved the bid on technical grounds but Formula One Management rejected it, forcing a restructure under TWG Motorsports.
Approved as Cadillac for 2026, the team debuted running Ferrari customer power units from a new Fishers, Indiana headquarters with a UK base at Silverstone.
General Motors' own power unit is scheduled to follow later in the regulation cycle, making Cadillac a full works manufacturer entry.
